PDF Merger Formula & Calculation

Merged PDF = Append all pages from File 1 → File N, in list order, into one new PDF document

The merger runs entirely client-side using pdf-lib, an open-source JavaScript library: it loads each uploaded PDF into memory, copies every page (preserving original formatting, fonts and images) from each source file in the order they appear in your list, and assembles them into a single new PDF document — all inside your browser.

Because no file is uploaded to a server, there's no file-size limit imposed by network transfer, and your documents never leave your device — the entire operation happens in JavaScript using the browser's own memory and CPU.

Key Factors That Affect Your Result

  1. File order — Pages are merged in the exact order files appear in the list; use the up/down controls to reorder before merging since there is no reordering after the merge.
  2. Client-side processing — Because merging happens in-browser via pdf-lib, very large PDFs (hundreds of MB) may be slow or hit browser memory limits on low-RAM devices; there is no server-side fallback.
  3. Password-protected PDFs — Encrypted/password-protected source PDFs generally cannot be read by pdf-lib without the password being supplied first; remove protection before merging if you hit an error.

No — merging happens entirely in your browser using pdf-lib.js (open-source). Your files never leave your device. It is 100% private.

Yes — after adding files, use the Move Up and Move Down buttons to reorder them before clicking Merge. The output PDF will follow the order shown in the list.

Embedded hyperlinks and text are preserved. Complex features like bookmarks (outlines) and fillable form fields may not be carried over, as this is a browser-based merger.

Password-protected PDFs cannot be merged. Remove the password protection first using your PDF reader (File → Save As, or similar), then add it to the merger.
