Frequently Asked Questions

Title case capitalizes the first letter of each major word. Articles (a, an, the), prepositions (of, in, on), and conjunctions (and, but) are usually lowercase unless they are the first word.

camelCase starts with a lowercase letter; each subsequent word starts with uppercase: e.g., myVariableName. PascalCase starts every word with uppercase: MyVariableName. Both are used in programming.

Snake case uses underscores between words and is typically all lowercase: my_variable_name. Common in Python, Ruby, and database column names. SCREAMING_SNAKE_CASE uses all caps with underscores.

Sentence case capitalizes only the first word of a sentence (and proper nouns). This is the standard for normal text, email subjects, and most content writing.
